Plean Church was dedicated in 1839 as a ‘daughter church’ of St Ninians Parish Church.  Plean Church became a  Parish in its own right in 1879.

Adjoining the Sanctuary there is a session hall and vestry.

The parishes of Plean and Cowie have been linked since 1974, and at present hold joint services on the last Sunday of the month, each church taking it in turn to host the services.

Building started on Cowie Church 1903 and was completed in 1905.

The church building, session hall and vestry  are all on the same site.

The next step on our journey of faith

PRESBYTERY OF STIRLING.

Service of Union and Linkage – 22nd June 2006.

Whereas the charge of Cowie linked with Plean became vacant on the translation of the Reverend Colin Sutherland in June 1999, and the charge of Fallin became vacant on the translation of the Reverend Eleanor Muir in August 2005, and after consultations with the Appraisal Committee of the Presbytery of Stirling, and the congregations of Cowie, Plean and Fallin expressing their agreement by voting, the Presbytery of Stirling approved the Basis of Union and Linkage, whereby the linked charge of Cowie and Plean would become the united charge of Cowie and Plean, and further that the newly united charge of Cowie and Plean would link with the charge of Fallin.  The General Assembly’s Committee on Appraisal having approved of this Union and Linkage, the Presbytery of Stirling set this day and time for a service at which the Act of Union and Linkage, resulting in the new charge of Cowie and Plean linked with Fallin, would be confirmed and celebrated.

This service having taken place and a Nominating Committee formed, representing all three congregations, we look forward to calling a Minister.

Further developments will be posted here in due course
